While launching the Redmi Note 8 series and RedmiBook laptop in Beijing, Xiaomi took the sheets off a 70-inch 4K HDR Redmi TV. It is the cheapest 70-inch TV in the market at RMB 3,799 (Rs 38,000 approx).
The TV has ultra slim bezels and supports 4K HDR, DTS HD and Dolby Audio. This TV, unlike the Mi TV line-up in India, is not a smart TV.
The RedmiTV has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, a quad-core Amlogic SoC, dual-band WiFi, PatchWall user interface, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, Bluetooth voice remote control and phone scan code.
Redmi GM, Lu Weibing has confirmed that the TV will be coming to India but a timeline has not been set. It is expected to come by this year end. India is one of the major TV markets for the brand.
