Relatives Carry ‘Arisa Pitha,’ Tribal Saree To New Delhi For President-Elect Droupadi Murmu

Bhubaneswar: July 25 will be a big day for Odisha and the country when the first tribal woman and the youngest to be in office, takes oath as the President of India.

Relatives of President-elect Droupadi Murmu are all set to fly to Delhi Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony. Her brother and sister-in-law are carrying gifts for her. Her sister-in-law has bought a tribal saree and traditional sweet pancake Arisa Pitha for Murmu.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already flown on a four-day visit to Delhi during which he will also attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new President.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind and Parliamentarians will remain present in the oath-taking to be administered by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana.

BJB leaders Ashwini Vaishnaw, Suresh Pujari, Basant Panda, KV Singhdeo, who met Murmu in New Delhi, are also expected to be present.
