Relentless pressure on vocal cord forced Satyajeet to quit reality show

Bhubaneswar: Singing sensation Satyajeet Jena quitting a reality show has left many of his fans disappointed. However, it was not an easy decision for this 12-year-old from Odisha as he had emerged the highest voted contestant even in his last episode.
Satyajeet’s father Guman Charan Jena, who runs an orchestra company, said his voice was going through a transformation phase and continuous pressure during performance could have damaged the vocal cord.
“The grand finale of the show was initially scheduled for May 31. It was shifted to June 23 and then July 5. Due to high TRPs, the production team decided to continue the show for another three months. We were left with no choice but to quit the show,” said Jena, who consulted a doctor before taking the decision.
He had even requested the jury members to eliminate Satyajeet.
The wonder boy had won huge rounds of applause, standing ovation and captivated music lovers across the globe with his mesmerising voice.
Everyone in the show was left moist eyed as he bid goodbye by singing ‘Mile ho tum humko’ with which he had won the judges’ heart during the audition.
The Class VII student is a native of Tura in Keonjhar district.
“I consoled Satyajeet and asked him not to feel disheartened as he will get more opportunities in future,” Jena added.
