Bhubaneswar: The depression, remnant of cyclonic storm Asani, over coastal Andhra Pradesh weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over the same region at 8.30 on Thursday. It is likely to weaken further into a low-pressure area during the next 12 hours, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Department tweeted.
There is no warning for Odisha association with this system, it added.
The MeT office, however, has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at a few places in Odisha from 8.30 am on Thursday to 8.30 am on Friday.
Notably, the cyclonic storm Asani had moved close to the coast between Machilipatnam and Narsapuram in Andhra Pradesh late on Wednesday night after weakening into a deep depression.
