New Delhi: Farmers in Haryana have warned of blocking trains in Mandsaur, those in sitting in protest at Singhu border in Delhi NCR said on Monday. Protesting farmers at Singhu border asked police to remove barricades and allow movement on road, India Today reported.
They further asked the police to stop harassing local people by barricading roads since the locals are supporting them. “If you don’t remove barricades, locals will start rebelling. We will not move from here,” they were quoted as saying.
Thousands of farmers have been protesting against the Centre’s three farm laws — Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020 — for over two months now.
