Bhubaneswar: Plans are afoot to renovate another temple in Odisha and the Koraput administration has been asked to submit a masterplan with regards to Jagannath Mandir at Narayanpatna block.
Secretary to CM – Transformational Initiatives (5T) VK Pandian on Saturday toured the block and assured to take up development of the shrine for the benefit of the devotees after speaking with the priests and locals. He asked the district administration to submit a master plan for renovation of the temple and adjoining areas.
Pandian then visited the site of the Jhanjhavati Dam and asked Minor Irrigation officials to expedite the tender process. He advised the Land Acquisition Officer to take up land acquisition with immediate effect. He said that the dam and the consequent irrigation programmes will have a life-changing impact on people of Bandhugan and Narayanapatna. The socio-economic landscape of the area will be transformed, he added.
The 5T secretary also visited SSD School at Dandabadi and Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya at Pachingi and interacted with students and teachers. He also inspected 5T works at OAV and inspired the students to aim big in life. He assured them of full support from the government.
Pandian also toured Deomali peak in Pottangi block, interacted with local SHG groups operating cafes and advised them to ensure quality and hygiene, and asked the officials concerned to ensure timely completion of the Eco Retreat project by the Forest Department in the district.
He also advised the district administration to work on developing adventure sports and renewable energy sources on the mountain with the government’s support.
Sports Secretary Vineel Krishna and district collector Abdaal M. Akhtar accompanied him.
