Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia bhajan singer Santilata Barik Chhotray is reported to be unwell. She has been admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaheswar for treatment, sources said on Friday.
Santilata Barik, who has carved a special identity for herself in the world of Odia devotional music, has been suffering from health-related complications and her condition is stated to be critical. She has reportedly been put on ventilator.
A popular name among music lovers across the state, she has lent her voice to a large number of Odia Bhajan songs, including ‘Jagannath tume bada chhalia’, ‘Thaka Mana Chala Jiba’, ‘Mun je Deula Bedha’, and Kaaliare.
A popular name in every household in the state, the legendary singer has more than 2000 devotional songs to her credit. Most of her bhajans and devotional songs are dedicated to Lord Jagannath.
