Bhubaneswar: Higher Education minister Arun Sahoo on Thursday said the reopening of colleges, universities and other higher education institutes may be delayed in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the state.
Speaking to media persons, Sahoo said the colleges and universities will reopen as per the guidelines of the Central and state government. But, there may be a slight delay.
Stating that educationalists have expressed doubts over adherence to COVID-19 guidelines in campuses if the institutions are reopened, he said maintaining social distancing at hostels will be little bit difficult.
However, he advised the students to keep continuing their studies at home till the campuses reopen.
It may be noted that the School and Mass Education department has already announced closure of all schools till December 31.
