Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Sunday said his department will take a decision on reopening of the schools as per the guidelines of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC).
He said the School and Mass Education department will take a decision on reopening of the schools for students of Classes I to VIII after a making thorough review of the situation.
“After a prolonged closure of the schools due to COVID-19 pandemic, the students are now keen on attending physical classes and the SRC has rightly taken the decision in favour of reopening of the schools,” the minister said.
He further said while the students are already attending Classes X and XII, it has been decided to resume classroom studies for Class IX students from August 16.
Stating that the admission to Class XI is yet to begin in the state, he said the School and Mass Education department will announce the schedule for the admission very soon.
