Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed in a high school as the question paper in ongoing NMMS examination was repeated in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday.
According to sources, the Government High School at Panikoili in the district was a centre for the examination for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS). In the second sitting of the examination, the candidates found the question paper of the first sitting was repeated.
This led the examinees to create a ruckus inside the examination centre. Soon their guardians standing outside the premises also started raising their voices. This sparked off palpable tension in the school.
Finding the situation going out of control, the centre superintendent informed the police. A team from Panikoili police station accompanied by Korei BDO went to the examination centre and tried to pacify the agitated guardians.
The superintendent told the candidates to remain calm and assured them that they were fetching a fresh set of question papers for the second sitting. After some time, the second set of questions arrived and the examination was conducted without further disturbances, the sources said.
