Bhubaneswar: The Central Electricity Supply Utility (CESU) on Thursday announced cash reward for providing information about power pilferage.
CESU chief executive officer (CEO) and IG, Arun Bothra said any person informing about power theft in his/her area will receive a cash reward of 10 per cent of the fines to be collected from the erring consumers. The name of the informant will be kept secret, he told the media.
Bothra also stated that CESU will intensify drives against power pilferage within three months and women SHGs will be allowed to collect energy bills soon.
The CEO also said that the CESU will receive consumer complaints through social media.
