The rescue teams will be deployed near the Kuakhai, the Daya near Dhauli Square and near Bankual Balianta, Puri Canal and Balipatna area.
“The rescue teams will be equipped with lifebuoys, life jackets, rubber boats with machines, rescue lines, underwater breathing apparatus (BA) sets and other essentials to act swiftly in case of an emergency,” Deputy Fire Officer Abani Kumar Swain told the media
The measures are being taken keeping in view the large number of people who flock to these places either to play Holi or take a bath after playing Holi every year. Those under the influence of bhaang and other intoxicants are at danger of slipping into the water bodies.
