Bhubaneswar: After a week of freezing cold, Odisha for the second day experienced a slightly less cold night with warm air from the Bay of Bengal pushing up minimum temperatures, but dense fog cover blanketed several parts of the state on Monday morning.
The regional meteorological centre here reported ‘very dense fog’ in Koraput (visibility 30 metres) and Bolangir (visibility 40 m) districts.
Dense fog was reported in Balasore (50 m), Angul and Baripada (100 m), Keonjhar, Phulbani and Malkangiri (150 m). Figures in bracket denote visibility.
The Met centre here tweeted a satellite image of the fog cover over the state on Monday morning.
On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued Yellow warning for dense fog in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Malkangiri and Koraput districts. After the warning, the office of the Special Relief Commissioner issued an advisory to the collectors concerned.

Daringbadi was the coldest place in the state on Monday night, recording a minimum temperature of 11.5 degrees Celsius. After Daringbadi, only Koraput — at 14 degrees Celsius — recorded night temperature less than 15 degrees Celsius. In the rest of the state, night temperatures were above 15 degrees Celsius.
