New Delhi: The Railway Ministry on Monday said no concessional Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) and Passenger Reservation System (PRS) tickets will be issued to passengers except some categories.
In a letter to zonal authorities, the Ministry said in view of health advisory issued regarding COVID-19, the concessional provision in the ticketing system will not be implemented. However, the order has excluded students, four categories of Divyangs and 11 categories of patients from the restriction.
The directive, which has been issued to discourage the passengers from undertaking non-essential travel, will be applicable for tickets booked on or before March 20.
CRIS and IRCTC have been directed to make necessary changes in their software to implement the order, the Ministry notification stated.
The Railways has announced partial restoration of passenger train services from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi from May 12.
