Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has imposed restrictions on movement of heavy vehicles through Bhubaneswar.
In a public notice, issued on Thursday, the notice, signed by Suresh Dev Datta Singh, Commissioner of Police, said it had come to the notice that there was huge traffic congestion on National Highway and State Highway in and around the capital city during evening hours from 5 pm to 10 pm. It was leading to lots of problems for general public.
It said in order to ensure better regulation of traffic in the area under the jurisdiction of Police Commissionerate and for the larger interest of public service and safety, the following restrictions are imposed until further orders:
Any violation of the order would invite a penalty of Rs 500 which can be extended upto Rs 1,000, said the Police Commissioner.
