Berhampur: In order to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic and public safety in the city, the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) has imposed restrictions on the traffic movement and parking of vehicles.
As per an order of BeMC, the road from Courtpeta junction to Gate Bazar junction has been declared as one way. All vehicles will be allowed to move from Courtpeta junction to Gate Bazar junction from 6 am to 9 pm everyday. There will be no movement of vehicles from opposite direction during the period.
However, ambulances and other emergency vehicles are exempted from this one way restriction, Ganjam collector Vijay Amrit Kulange said. The order came into force with immediate effect.
Similarly, the main road from MKCG Medical College Square to the Sales Tax junction and the road in front of Berhampur Development Authority (BeDA) market complex near New Bus Stand Road has been declared as ‘No Parking Zone’. There will be restrictions on parking of all types of vehicles excluding two-wheelers, ambulances and other emergency vehicles, the collector said.
