Bhubaneswar: In view of COVID-19 pandemic, the Koraput administration has imposed restrictions on the congregation of people at river ghats and other water bodies in the district for Bada Osha and Kartika Purnima.
Those found violating the order will be punished under the provisions of the DM Act, 2005 and other relevant laws, the collector warned.
On these occasions, people flock to various water bodies to take bath in the early hours of the day and sail miniature boats.
On Tuesday, the Odisha government had put a ban on such congregations for public safety and to contain the spread of the virus.
