Bhubaneswar: Senior IPS officer Satyajit Mohanty, who took voluntary retirement from service, assumed charge as the chairman of Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Monday.
Prior to his retirement on Sunday, he was serving as DG, Fire Services.
The 1988-batch IPS officer was given a farewell by Odisha Fire Service at Naraj in Cuttack. He joined a valedictory function at the Odisha Police Training Academy in Bhubaneswar later in the day.
Mohanty was also Twin City Police Commissioner.
