Retired Compulsorily, Prof At AIIMS In Odisha Capital Cries Foul; Know Why

Bhubaneswar: A professor at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar has said he had done no wrong after he was retired compulsorily by the institute on charges of forgery, according to reports.

Dr Sukhdev Nayak, professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology, is accused of submitting forged airline tickets of around Rs 1.9 lakh for LTC claims.

While AIIMS authorities claimed he was compulsorily retired on the recommendations of the governing body, Dr Nayak said he had done no wrong and was targeted for pointing out the wrongdoings of a former director.

“I have not submitted any forged ticket. The tickets attached to my LTC claim do not carry my signature. They were attached by someone else with ulterior motive,” Dr Nayak was quoted as saying in the report. He said he would appeal against the decision.
