Keonjhar: A Junior Revenue Assistant (JRA) in Ghatagaon Tehsildar’s office in Odisha’s Keonjhar district was apprehended by Vigilance sleuths on Thursday for allegedly taking Rs 10,000 bribe from a man to issue partition patta (ROR).
The accused, identified as Debashis Panda, apprehended while demanding and accepting bribe Rs 10,000 for issuance of partition pattas (ROR) in favor of the complainant and his siblings in two cases as per revenue law, a Vigilance release said.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Panda and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of the JRA from Disproportionate Assets angle.
A case has been registered U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 and investigation is in progress against the accused.
