Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday apprehended Revenue Inspector (RI) of Kendrapati under Astaranga Tehsil in Puri, Dipti Ranjan Mohapatra, and his associate, Sampad Kumar Das, while allegedly accepting Rs 7,000 bribe.
The RI had allegedly demanded the illegal gratification for giving Homestead Enquiry Report of a landed property in the name of the complainant’s father, a prerequisite for selling land.
The entire tainted bribe money was recovered from their possession and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are on at two locations linked to Mohapatra to ascertain whether he has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, a Vigilance release said.
