Bhubaneswar: A Revenue Inspector was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance in Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday for allegedly accepting Rs 5,000 bribe for submitting enquiry report for issuance of land pattas.
The accused was identified as Bibhudatta Sahu, RI at Mallikapur under Balikuda Tehsil of Jagatsinghpur district.
Sahu was caught while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000/- from a complainant to submit enquiry report in his favour in two mutation cases for issuance of ROR (Land Patta).
The entire bribe amount has been recovered from possession of the accused RI and seized.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sahu from Disproportionate Assets angle.
In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
