Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday apprehended Revenue Inspector (RI) Satyanarayan Kaudi, who is posted at Gochhara under Kuchinda block in Sambalpur district, while allegedly accepting Rs 5,000 bribe.
According to sources, the RI had sought illegal gratification for submitting an inquiry report of a land in a mutation case to Kuchinda tehsildar for issuance of ROR (Patta) in favour of the complainant.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are being conducted at three locations suspecting that Kaudi might have accumulated assets disproportionate to his know sources of income.
A case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, has been registered and further investigation is underway.
