Jeypore: The Vigilance officials on Thursday caught Revenue Inspector in Dudhari RI Circle under Semliguda Tehsil for demanding and accepting bribe.
The Revenue Inspector, Khirabdi Tanaya Swain, was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 10,000 from a complainant for submission of report under rehabilitation assistance scheme of the Government. The RA report was necessary for appointment of the complainant in government job following the death of his mother while in service.
Koraput Vigilance registered a case and investigation is on. Simultaneous searches have been launched on the property of Swain at two places in Koraput district. Details are awaited.
