New Delhi: The CBI investigating officer and public prosecutor (PP) in the rape and murder of the trainee doctor in Kolkata failed to show up and the agency’s lawyer came 40 minutes late for the bail hearing of the prime suspect in the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
This prompted an exasperated Judge Pamela Gupta to question whether the accused Sanjay Roy should be granted bail due to the CBI’s delay. The judge asked, “Where are the PP and IO? Should I grant bail?”
