Rhea Chakraborty Recalls Reaching Out To Aryan Khan When He Was Weighed Down By Drug Case

Mumbai: Actor Rhea Chakraborty recently opened up about her connection with Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan during one of the most difficult phases of his life.

Reflecting on Aryan’s drug case, Rhea revealed that she had reached out to him, admitting that the incident brought back memories of her own legal ordeal following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

In a conversation with Variety India, Rhea shared, “I did. When I saw what Aryan was going through, it took me back because it was spectacularly similar. In fact, more than my story, it looked a lot like Showik’s story. They also have a resemblance. It was very, very hard to watch. I did not spea

k to the media many times, and I still do not.”

Recalling how her girl gang supported her during the tough times, she added, “I had a bunch of close friends who stood by me. At the time, it was not cool to support me. Anyone who supported me used to get trolled and lose job opportunities. It was miserable for them. Shibani, Nidhi, Anisha, Samisha, and Anusha, my girlfriends, really held fort.”

She recalled how Saqib Saleem and Huma Qureshi became the biggest support for her family when her brother Showik was also in jail.

“Saqib supported my parents a lot when Showik and I were in jail. I have been blessed to have these people in my life. If you have one true friend, that is enough to go through anything.”

“I do not want people to ask me anything. If you see me on the road, ignore me. Act like I am not there and just go,” Rhea concluded.

Rhea, who was dating Sushant at the time of his death, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in September 2020 after alleged chats with drug peddlers were found on her WhatsApp. Although she was later granted bail, travel restrictions imposed on her continued for a considerable period.

On the work front, Rhea is preparing for her acting comeback with the Netflix series ‘Family Business’, which also stars Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma.
