Jaipur: Beating 51 other finalists, 18-year-old Rhea Singha from Gujarat won the Miss Universe India 2024 title on Sunday. She will now represent India on the global stage at the Miss Universe 2024 beauty pageant, slated to be held in Mexico.
Besides her accomplishments in pageantry, Rhea is an actress and an undergraduate student of performing arts. That’s not all, she is also a fashion designer. She blends cultural and modern heritage in her works.
After winning the crown, she was elated and expressed her happiness in an interview. “Today I won the title of Miss Universe India 2024. I am so thankful. I have done so much work to get to this level where I can consider myself worthy enough for this crown. I am so inspired by the previous winners,” she told the ANI.
Hours before coming onto the stage of the finals, she had posted a picture of hers on Instagram to share her backstage story. She was seen wearing an emerald, green dress, sitting in the green room with other contenders. “It’s the last day today…I am beyond grateful for all the beautiful people I met, the love, support and most importantly the opportunity in itself,” she wrote on the photo.
“There is so much yet to come. Can’t wait to welcome and embrace the new beginnings,” she added. According to reports, Rhea was born in Poland and raised in Singapore, before moving to India.
Actress and Miss Universe India 2015, Urvashi Rautela, who was one of the jury members at the event, expressed hope that “India will win the Miss Universe crown again this year.”
