Bargarh: A Revenue Inspector (RI) and another person were apprehended by Odisha Vigilance sleuths for allegedly taking Rs 20,000 bribe from a man to submit a favourable report in a land inquiry matter in Bargarh district on Monday.
The accused RI, identified as Dambarudhar Seth, is posted at Jamseth in Paikmal, while the other person is Bibekananda Majhi, a vigilance release said.
The two were caught demanding and accepting Rs 20,000 for submission of enquiry report to Tehsildar of Paikmal in favour of the complainant and his father in a land matter.
The entire bribe amount has been recovered from possession of accused Majhi and seized, it said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Seth from Disproportionate Assets angle.
A case has been registered and further investigation is in progress against both the accused persons.
