Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday apprehended Dilip Sahu, RI (Revenue Inspector) of Durgapanga Revenue Circle under Kotagarh Tehsil in Kandhamal district, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
According to a Vigilance release, the RI had demanded the illegal gratification to precess an application in a mutation case for issuance of ROR (land patta). The entire bribe money was recovered him and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are on at two locations linked to Sahu to ascertain whether he has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. A case has also been registered at Berhampur Vigilance police station under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway.
