Rice Mill Closed Down Following Raid In Balangir

Balangir: A private rice mill located at Belapada in Odisha’s Balangir district
was sealed following a raid conducted by food supplies and consumer welfare
department on Friday.

There had been complaints against the miller of Awin Rice Mill that he
was bringing rice and storing it illegally.

The team found a huge quantity of low-quality rice on the mill’s
premises and seized 3,424 sacks of rice. Following this, a
decision was taken to seal the mill.

Further investigation into the matter is on, official sources said.
