Rijiju Heaps Praise On Naveen Govt For Promoting Sports In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday lauded the efforts of the BJD-led government in Odisha in supporting and promoting sports in the state.

The minister, who visited the Kalinga Stadium to attend the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers, said the state is attracting international sporting events because of the initiatives of the government in encouraging various sports disciplines.

“The government and the people of Odisha are very proactive in promoting sports. The enthusiasm among them is very palpable and this contributes to the growth of sports,” Rijiju said.

The Union Sports Minister also visited the Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance Centre and exuded confidence that both men and women’s hockey teams will qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
