Hyderabad: The highly-anticipated Rishab Shetty starrer ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, a prequel to ‘Kantara’, has landed in trouble for apparently destroying forests during the shooting of the film.
Rishab is currently shooting in Karnataka’s Gavigudda forests.
According to an India Today report, the locals of Gavigudda have alleged that the ‘Kantara’ team has caused damage to the forests.
“Farmers are already struggling with wild elephant attacks. Despite the Supreme Court’s directive to protect forests, officials have been negligent. Immediate action must be taken to prevent further damage,” former Zilla Panchayat member Sanna Swamy said.
When some people confronted the ‘Kantara’ team during the shoot, an altercation took place in which a youngster from the area got injured.
The injured youngster was rushed to Crawford Hospital in Sakleshpur, following which a case was registered against the ‘Kantara’ team at Yesalur Police Station.
However, Rishab and the makers of ‘Kantara’ haven’t addressed the allegations officially yet.
Rishab was seen in a dual role, playing both Shiva and his father, in ‘Kantara’.
The prequel ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ will be releasing worldwide on October 2.
