Dehradun: Rishabh Pant has been shifted to a private ward of the Dehradun hospital where he is undergoing treatment following a near-fatal accident on December 30.
“Rishabh Pant has been shifted to a private room so that there is no chance of infection,” Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) director Shyam Sharma told India Today.
The Team India wicketkeeper-batsman is recovering well and that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will take a call on treatment of his torn ligament, informed Sharma.
“As of now, he is recovering well. Till the time his recovery is on, he will be at the Dehradun (Max) hospital.. BCCI will later take the call on his ligament treatment on whether he needs to be shifted overseas or not… accordingly, decision on his plastic surgery will be taken,” Sharma said.
The 25-year-old cricketer was driving from Delhi to Roorkee when his Mercedes hit a road divider and caught fire.
He managed to get out of the car with help from a Haryana Roadways bus driver and conductor, and was taken to a district hospital first. Later, he was shifted to Max Hospital.
