Sambalpur: The rituals for the inauguration of SAMALEI project at Samaleswari temple in Odisha’s Sambalpur city will commence from Monday.
This was informed by Sanja Babu, chairman of the Samaleswari Temple Trust Board while speaking to media persons on Sunday.
He said the rituals will begin with Ankuraropana on Monday. As part of the ritual, vermilion will be collected from households so that it can be used during puja of Maa Samaleswari on the day of inauguration of the project.
The temple priests will perform yajnas from tomorrow till the inauguration of Samaleswari Temple Area Management and Local Economy Initiatives (SAMALEI) project on January 27.
A Kalash Yatra will be taken out by women in the city as final part of the rituals on January 26. The water brought during the Yatra will be used for holy bath of the deity, he added.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the SAMALEI project being implemented by the state government with a cost of Rs 200 crore. He is scheduled to arrive at the temple in the morning and inaugurate the project at 12.30 pm, Babu said.
