Puri: In view of solar eclipse on October 25, the rituals of deities in Jagannath temple of Odisha’s Puri town have been rescheduled.
As per a notification of Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the morning rituals of sibling deities Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra have been preponed as partial solar eclipse will be visible in the Pilgrim Town in the evening.
According to the revised schedule of the rituals, Dwara Phita will be held at 12 am and Mangala Alati performed at 12.30 am. It will be followed by Mailama and Tadapalagi at 12.45 am.
While Abakasha puja will be performed at 1.15 am, followed by Rosa Homa ritual. Sakala Dhupa will be offered to the deities between 2 am and 3 am. Baladhupa will be performed at 4 am and Bhogamandap rituals carried out at 4.55 am. After Grahana Sparsa at 4.56 am, Grahana Mahasnana and Grahan Bhoga neeti will be held.
The partial solar eclipse will start at 04.56 pm and end at 06.26 pm. But it will be visible for 16 minutes and 26 seconds in Puri.
