Sambalpur: A contractual employee of the Railways was arrested for allegedly stealing a bag from a woman passenger in Sambalpur.
He was identified as Nutan Charan Bagh, a supervisor at the cleaning section.
He was arrested on the basis of the complaint lodged by Manoj Das of Buddharaja in Sambalpur district. The incident had taken place on January 5 when Das along with his family was returning from Bhubaneswar in Puri Intercity express. His wife’s purse went missing at Sambalpur railway station.
Acting on complaint, a team led by GRP inspector-in-charge Ranjan Patnaik lunched a probe and recovered stolen items from Bagh’s house on Wednesday following which he was arrested.
