Rly Employee Arrested For ‘Molestation’ Of Minor Girl In Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: Police on Monday arrested an Indian Railway employee for allegedly molesting a minor girl in Rourkela under Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

According to sources, while the 13-year-old girl, a Class VIII student, was returning to her house under Bondamunda police station in the city on Sunday evening, the accused allegedly molested her. He also threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anybody.

But the girl told her parents about the matter on reaching home. Later, her parents filed a complaint at the police station. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested the man, identified as 58-year-old Neelanchal Banchhor. A resident of Diesel Colony, Banchhor works as a senior technician in Indian Railways.

The police have registered a case and forwarded Banchhor to local court, the sources said.
