Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has sanctioned Rs 1.55 crore from the MPLAD fund for development of Baganaga Bazaar in Odisha’s Balasore district.
The minister sanctioned the fund after the local people raised certain demands for the area during his visits to Baganaga Bazaar where triple accident took place on June 2. During his visits on June 20 and 21, Vaishnaw interacted with the first responders at accident site, local people, villagers and members of NGOs and appreciated their effort to save the lives of many passengers.
The minister has sanctioned Rs 1 crore for various developmental works at Bahanaga and nearby villages including construction of 5 community centres and hall with provision of toilet and clean drinking water, construction of children park and gymnasium near Basuli High School, strengthening of toad from NH-16 to level crossing, repair of Sartira village road at Sathi, improvement of Pranabandhu Bidyapitha School playground and provision of 42 solar street lights.
He has also sanctioned Rs 35 lakh for Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance for District Headquarters Hospital in Balasore. Besides, Rs 20 Lakh has been sanctioned for a modular operation theatre at Balasore Lions Eye Hospital.
Within two weeks of his visit, 2 high masts with floodlight have already been provided for lighting and installation of new hume pipes is going on in full swing to improve the drainage system. Trenching has already been done, and work will be completed very soon. He has instructed for completion of the developmental works on fast track.
