Road Accident Claims 2 Lives In Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: Two youths were killed and as many injured in a road accident near Dhanapur Square under Panikoili police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district late on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Chandan Mahalik of Jhatiasahi village under Jajpur Road police limits and Debashis Nayak of Kantar village under Korei police limits.

Sources said, four youths were returning to Jajpur Road by car around 11 pm and the driver lost control over the wheels when a big speeding vehicle tried to overtake it.

Subsequently, it fell into a roadside pond. Chandan and Debashis died on the spot.

Locals immediately rushed the injured to Jajpur Road hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Panikoili police arrived at the spot and initiated an investigation.
