Angul/Balasore: Four persons were killed while three sustained serious injures in two separate accidents in Odisha’s Angul and Balasore districts on Monday.
In Angul, two persons died and three others sustained critical injuries after the taxi in which they were travelling collided head-on with a speeding truck near Jarapada petrol pump.
The deceased were identified as Ashok Prusty and Hemant Prusty.
According to sources, the accident took place while the taxi was heading towards Bhilai in Chhattisgarh from Angul.
The injured persons, including a child, were rushed to a hospital at Jarapada and later shifted to the district headquarters hospital for better treatment.
Similarly, two persons died after the motorcycle they were riding skidded and fell off a bridge at Paganai under Sadar police limits in Balasore district.
The deceased were identified as Sudarshan Hembram (24) of Chandipur area and his brother-in-law Kaya (30), a resident of Paganai village.
