Cuttack: Vehicular traffic was partially affected after a portion of the main road between Cuttack and Banki caved in near Puri Main Canal at Godisahi, on the outskirts of Cuttack city, on Tuesday night.
The incident took place around 10 pm.
On being informed, the OIC of Godisahi Outpost Subash Chandra Mallick rushed to the spot and controlled the traffic.
According to sources, the IDCO provides water to the premises of the under-construction plant of the Odisha Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (OMFED) near a hill at Bidyadharpur through this pipeline.
Following a leakage in the pipeline placed under the road, about 10 feet of the upper part of the road caved in.
The road is being repaired on a war footing, the sources added.
