Saharanpur: A journalist had to pay the dearest price in what was a case of road rage in Uttar Pradesh.
The journalist, identified as Sudhir Saini, was thrashed to death by three people who were travelling in a car at Saharanpur on Wednesday night.
A case in connection with the crime was lodged at Sikri police station in Saharanpur.
Police have arrested two people, identified as Jahangir and Farman.
According to case details, Saini was riding a bike and headed towards Saharanpur. As he overtook an Alto, the three occupants of the car got enraged, moved close to the bike and stopped him. A scuffle followed, before the trio severely thrashed the outnumbered journalist, injuring him seriously. He eventually succumbed to the injuries.
The victim’s body was sent for post-mortem.
“Jahangir and Farman were immediately arrested by Saharanpur police in case involving the death of Mr Sudhir Saini (Shah times) due to road rage incident. We will ensure that they are convicted in a fast-tracked manner,” Saharanpur SSP Akash Tomar tweeted.
