Roads In Cuttack, Bhubaneswar & Other Urban Areas To Be Repaired Before Puja

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has set September 20 deadline to finish repair works on major roads across cities and towns to ensure smoother travel ahead of the Durga Puja festivities.

Speaking to the media, Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Wednesday said that a high-level review meeting will be held on September 6 to finalise a detailed action plan. MLAs, Mayors and Commissioners from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, and senior Works Department officials have been instructed to attend the meeting.

“The action plan finalised in the meeting will guide the execution of repairs across key roads and junctions in urban areas, which witness a high footfall during Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja, and will be completed by September 30,” he said.

He further stated that the focus will be on repairing damaged road sections, resolving water-logging issues, and improving high-traffic corridors. “The government will work closely with contractors and urban bodies to meet the deadline without delays,” he added.
