Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled arrive in Odisha again on Friday on a two day visit.
“He will hold roadshow in Bhubaneswar from 8 pm tomorrow and make a night halt at the Raj Bhavan. On May 11, he will address three public rallies – first in Kandhamal at 9.30 am, second in Balangir at 11.30 am and third in Bargarh at 1 pm,” BJP vice president Golak Mohapatra informed on Thursday.
This will be Modi’s second roadshow in five years and 55 platoon force will be deployed for the event, which will start from BJP headquarters and end at Vani Vihar Square. “Traffic arrangements and diversions are being chalked out and details will be shared soon. The 2-km stretch between Ram Mandir and Vani Vihar Square will remain under tight security cordon,” Commissioner of Police Sanjeeb Panda told TNIE.
He further said that around 55 platoons of police force, five DCP ranked officers, 10 additional DCPs, 27 ACPs, 41 inspectors and 180 sub-inspectors will be deployed during the PM’s roadshow to maintain law and order. “Barricades will also be erected on both sides of the roads,” he added.
Three teams of special tactical unit (STU) and police personnel in plainclothes will also be deployed during the event.
The report further stated that vehicular movement will not allowed on connecting roads BJP headquarters with DCP office in Vani Vihar and the flyover near it. The entire stretch will be sanitised and nobody will be allowed on high rise buildings between Ram Mandir and Vani Vihar Square. The area will also be declared no fly zone and drones will be barred during the roadshow.
The National Highways Authority of India has also instructed its regional office to keep the NH 16 stretch free of potholes and waterlogging.
