Bhubaneswar: In a daring robbery in an apartment in Bhubaneswar, four miscreants have looted valuables worth around Rs 1 crore in one night.
As per reports, the robbers armed with iron rod, hammer, and shovel looted four flats in JJ Rajvatika apartment at Pathargadia under the city limits late Monday night. They entered the apartment suspectedly scaling the boundary wall.
Surprisingly, the miscreants managed to dodge a security guard deployed at the entrance of the apartment and CCTV cameras installed in all floors. Three of them were wearing half pants and T-shirts while one was wearing a full pant and shirt. All of them had their faces covered with towels.
They broke open the iron grills and locks at the entrance of the flats with the iron rods. They looted the gold ornaments and other valuables worth more than Rs 1 crore from the four flats and decamped.
A police team led by senior officers and scientific team went to the apartment and checked the CCTV footage which has also been released to the media.
The residents of the apartment alleged that the robbers were workers from an under-construction project at nearby Sikharchandi. The police have registered a case and started investigation to trace the robbers.
