Bhubaneswar: In a daring daylight robbery, unidentified miscreants allegedly snatched Rs 2.55 lakh cash from an employee of a security agency in Infocity area of Bhubaneswar on Friday.
As per information, the victim, identified as Sisir Mohapatra, withdrew the amount from the Infocity branch of the SBI and returned to his office in the same area.
When he was about the enter the office after parking his two-wheeler outside the building, two miscreants suddenly appeared on a motorcycle and snatched the cash from him. The two fled the spot on the vehicle immediately after snatching the cash.
Mohapatra said he had withdrawn the cash for paying the college fees of his child but the robbers looted the hard-earned money.
Based on a complaint, the Infocity police have started an investigation into the incident. Efforts are on to identity and trace the robbers on the basis of CCTV footage, sources said.
