Balasore: Unidentified miscreants uprooted an ATM of State Bank of India (SBI) installed at Bahanaga Bazaar in Soro of Balasore and decamped with the money. The incident took place late on Wednesday.
The matter came to the fore after a passer-by found the ATM lying broken on the roadside and immediately alerted the police about the matter.
“The same ATM was ransacked and cash was looted from it on November 25 last year. Another ATM of the SBI at Sunahat was also looted on January 24 this year. We request the police to take concrete steps to check incidents of ATM loot which are frequently occurring in the area,” a local resident said.
However, the exact amount of cash looted from the machine is yet to be ascertained by the bank officials.
