Puri: Unidentified miscreants allegedly made a loot attempt at a branch of the Odisha Gramya Bank in Satyabadi area of Odisha’s Puri district.
According to preliminary information, the robbery attempt was suspected to be made at the Odisha Gramya Bank branch located at Sarangajodi under the jurisdiction of Satyabadi police station in the wee hours of Saturday.
The miscreants had broken the lock and iron grill at the main entrance. They had also broken the main door and CCTV camera before entering the bank, sources said.
After getting information from the villagers, Inspector In-Charge of Satyabadi police station Bijay Ketan Behera and others visited the site in the morning. Preliminary investigation showed that no cash or other valuables had been looted from the bank.
Though the miscreants had entered the bank, they apparently failed to take away any cash. Further investigation is underway.
