New Delhi: The roof of an apartment in Haryana’s Gurugram collapsed on Thursday evening, killing at least two people. Several others were feared trapped under the debris.
According to reports, the incident took place on the sixth floor of D Block of Chintels Paradiso housing complex at Sector 109 in Gurugram. A room on the floor was under renovation and its drawing-room floor collapsed.
All roofs and floors starting from the sixth floor till the ground floor of the building collapsed at once.
Teams of the NDRF and SDRF were at the spot on Friday morning. The fire brigade, police and other district authorities were at the accident site carrying out rescue operations. Society residents blamed the builder for the poor construction and said their complaints went unheeded, said media reports.
