Balangir: A portion of the roof of Samaleswari Temple in the town collapsed on Friday. There was no reports of any casualty in the incident
According to sources, while the priests were going to perform evening ‘alati’ of the deity in the temple located near the daily market, the ceiling caved in. The priests, servitors and devotees present at the time managed to escape unhurt.
Following the incident, rubbles of the roof piled inside the temple. Balangir deputy collector Lambodar Dharua visited the temple to inspect the situation.
